Welcome To My Realm

I am an artist based in the Netherlands. My work is inspired by the transient nature of life, the beauty in overlooked moments, and the paradoxes of human existence. I aim to capture fleeting thoughts, feelings, and experiences that often slip away, reflecting on the contradictions of life and the disconnect between us and nature and therefore also from one another, which I believe threatens our essence. My art also explores the tension I feel between societal expectations and the desire for freedom, finding beauty in contradictions and the strength of vulnerability. How much space should we allow ourselves to take up?

I chose to study psychology instead of attending an art academy. Despite this, art has always remained an intrinsic part of who I am and I have continued to nurture my artistic skills independently. Furthermore I found that both my work as a psychologist and an artist have mutually enriched each other. My art continues to evolve, reflecting my experiences and constant exploration of the relationships both within and between the inner and outer world.

My work spans various techniques, but drawing is where I feel most at home. I also experiment with wearable art—translating my drawings into fabric and designing pieces that allow me to carry my work with me in daily life. It’s a way of bringing my art closer, more tactile and personal.
