Welcome To My Realm
Artist Statement
I am a visual artist based in the Netherlands. My work traces the fragile beauty of the fleeting, the overlooked, the in-between. Rooted in a search for connection and resilience, I create drawings and wearable art that invite touch, presence, and a deeper bond with ourselves, with each other and our place in nature.
Full Story
I’m an artist inspired by fleeting thoughts, feelings, and experiences that so easily slip away. My work reflects on the contradictions of being human, and of being a woman.
A recurring theme is finding roots. I’m drawn to trees for their connection and resilience, symbols of grounding in a fast, fragmented world. Making art is my way of staying present when the world feels like it’s burning.
Though I studied psychology rather than attending an art academy, art has always shaped how I relate to the world. My work as a psychologist and as an artist continually enrich each other, deepening my exploration of the relationships between inner and outer worlds.
While I work across techniques, drawing is home. I also create wearable art, translating drawings into pieces which can be carried into daily life. Intimate, tactile and close.
My art often circles back to questions: How do we relate to ourselves, to each other, to nature? How much space can we take up, and how much should I? This is the space I’m holding. Welcome to this pocket of it.
